ADU GO is Garden Grove's pre-approved ADU program. The city offers four of its own plans online for free, from a 447 sq ft studio to a 1,000 sq ft three-bedroom unit.
Can every Garden Grove lot use the free ADU GO plans?
No. The city says the pre-approved plans can't be used in a Special Flood Hazard Area (Flood Zone A), and every project still has to meet the ADU ordinance's setback, height and separation standards.
Are the ADU GO plans enough to get a permit?
Not by themselves. They're architectural plans only. You still need a site plan, Title 24 energy calculations and structural plans and calculations. We prepare those and submit through GG Ready.
